Explaination:

As available dose of potassium chloride is 60meq which contains 2 meq/ml on lable

Ordered dose: 18meq

2meq = 1 ml

18meq = x

x = 18÷2 = 9ml

9 milliliter of potassium chloride should be added to the IV bag.

b) 9ml ~ 18 meq in NS 1000ml @ 100ml/hr

Means it will take 10 hrs to complete 1 IV bag so for 24 hrs

10 hrs = 1 IV bag

24 hrs = y

y= 2.4 ~ 3 IV bags to be prepared for 24 hrs but while infusing Infuse 2 full IV bags & from 3 rd IV bag only 400ml.
