outpatient services are the services that do not require overnight inpatient stay whereas ambulatory services are defined as the medical services that are performed in outpatient settings. Nowadays, this type of service are affordable and is more efficient. therefore, "ambulatory surgeries are more efficient and inexpensive" is a reason for the growth in outpatient services.
