a.Cardiac catheterization

It is a procedure where a catheter is inserted via artery (femoral or radial) to visualize the heart for any abnormalities(blocks,valve problems, pressure can be assessed )

b.Cardioversion

It is a procedure to treat abnormal heart rate and rhythm and to normalise them.(dine in arrhythmia, atrial fibrillation )It has two types namely

• Chemical cardioversion:Medication are used to treat
• Electrical cardioverdion:An external shock is given via chest through leads

c.Defibrillation

It is procedure or treatment where the fibrillating heart is treated with a shock or medication to normalise it.The procedure is done with defibrillator.This can be with manual external defibrillators, automated defibrillator, manual internal defibrillator , implanted cardiovertor defibrillator.

It is widely used to treat

• Ventricular fibrillation
• Pulseless ventricular fibrillation
• Dysarrythmia

d.Electrocardiogram

It is a procedure to detect the electrical activity of the heart.The widely followed basic test to assess the function of the heart.
