At that time ,surgery is unsafe .After American independence ,standards of medical education declined due to the going of physician to Europe for medical training . Then in late 19's ,U.S. start gain respectability as more hospitals were being built due to advances in medical science .Surgery can now be performed painlessly due to the use ansthesia .There are many social changes in America that were leading to increase the use of hospitals .

By the turn of 19th century hospitals were now providing medical care for an entire community .After world war II,medical technology advancement made hospitals even more vital to vital health care .In 1950'schemotherapy was being used for cancer .

Nonethelesstoday'sAmerican hospitals are the dominant player in the healthcare system and have significant impact on the American economy .

The current trends are :- 1).GETTING SOCIAL :-60% of doctors reporting that social media helps in improve the quality of care .

2).PUTTING PATIENT FIRST :- Remember old days ,when you had to wait an hour before the doctor would see you ?But patient can compare doctorsand hospitals as easily as they can browse through restaurant on yelp .

3).DIGITALISATION OF HEALTHCARE :-New technologies have helped to improve patient satisfaction and overall level of care .It also help organisations to cut costs by identifying and treating patients 'shealth issue sooner .
