Anything in dispute, an area of disagreement whose resolution is being debated or decided is called an issue. Issues that related and affecting the people in the society are called Social issues.

Florence Nightingale( 1820- 1910)

Florence Nightingale is known as the mother of modern nursing. She born on 12 May 1820 and died on 13 August1910.

19th century witnessed a lot of changes in the society. Main Social issues were there in the society during Florence Nightingale time;

* wars( Crimean war)

*Fight between Nationalism, liberalism and chartism

* Population growth

* Problems related to Industrial revolution( evolved new town as well slums)

* Persecution against many artists and philosophers

* French revolution ( many got wounded and killed)

* poor health facilities of hospitals

* Inadequate hospital supplies ( such as dressing , bandages)
