Very often the general public poses question regarding the physical and/or mental health status of our leaders. For example when Hilary Clinton was engaged in Bengazi testimony, she was scrutinized for her appearance which suggested a possible head injury.

The discussion for this week is to consider the weight of the HIPPA regulations regarding privacy compared to the public’s perceived right to know the health status of our leaders, present and future (and in some cases, past, as per England’s King George III)

So do you believe, we as American citizens, have the right to know the health status of our leaders, or is the right to know a violation of the law? If you were Hilary Clinton, a potential presidential candidate for 2016, how would you handle all the (negative) speculation? HIPPA does not apply to the intentional self-disclosure of confidential health information.

Answer: According to HIPAA act, there should be privacy of the medical reports of the patients and it can't be disclosed without the consent provided by the patient himself. So, knowing about the health status of any person. Although ethically we should have right to know about the health condition of our leaders because the leader has to take forward our country. But according to HIPAA law it is a violation of privacy law.
