4. It is necessary to do the cultural assessment and understanding of cultural values and beliefs of patient differ from our own culture. It helps to know the patient's behavior and attitudes associated with the particular cultural groups. Providing culturally appropriate care in the surgical room avoid unnecessary stereotyping and increase patient cooperation.

For example, In Hinduism, a particular group of people does not accept a blood transfusion. So the surgical team should take appropriate intervention prior to the surgery to avoid the transfusion of blood during surgery. The surgical team also cares to minimize blood loss during surgery and to avoid post-operative transfusion needs. This improves patient satisfaction and clinical practices.

5. I agree with Maslow's theory of hierarchical needs because it satisfies all basic human needs of the individual. The five-stage model of human needs fulfills and satisfy the individual person based on the motivation to meet the needs. If the motivation increases, the needs are met and the individual realizes the self-actualization. If the motivation decreases, there will be a deficiency in the meeting of necessary needs. Thus it is motivational theory, one must satisfy the basic needs before attaining the growth of the higher level.
