They are clinically used in the organ transplantation procedures, and in the treatment of autoimmune disorders. What are the key considerations of the use of immune modulators in children? Immune modulators are those that act by modifying the actions of immune system. When using these drugs, the children should be protected from the infection and injury because of possible worsening of these conditions. The children must be monitored for the adverse effects on the GI, renal, hematological, or central nervous system when using these drugs, especially with interferon alfa-2b, azathioprine, cyclosporine, and palivizumab What are the key teaching needs for a patient receiving an immune stimulant?
