Bone tumors usually disrupt the normal structures of osteons and replace the organized lamellar
rings with disorganized bone as well as destroying normal bone. This commonly results in a
symptom (an abnormality the patient notices) and an event (a sudden change in bone function
or integrity) that affects the involved bone. Name the most likely symptom and event. Explain.
The most likely symptoms are
The malignant bone tumor multiplies rapidly and destroy the cortex and reaching the near by tissues ,slowly invades the blood stream and gets metastased to all organs and giving out symptoms. When the tumor compresses the marrow (pain )it decreases the bone function and the white cells comes to recover the problem (swelling) overtime and invading the bloodstream causing symptomatic problems .In children the bone stops to grow ( osteoblast process is affected) resulting on stunted growth. The compression on nerves may lead to numbness and difficulty in walking. At the end it affects the major functions of protection, blood cell creation, CCertain endocrine activities and mineralisation.
