Background

Amanda is the owner of CatsCafé located in Timmins, Ontario. In addition to the owner, CatsCafé employs 16 individuals (4 full-time (2 are managers) and 12 part-time). The café serves coffee, tea, soups, sandwiches and desserts. It has a small eat-in area for roughly 30 patrons. Amanda has heard about corporate social responsibility and that it is important but she doesn’t know much about it so she has come to you for advice.

1) CSR assessment is the analysis of how well the principles of CSR have been adopted by the company in its practices. This is important as by performing the CSR assessment the management can understand the different levels where more initiatives related to CSR has to be implemented and the management can also find the areas of improvement 5 stages of CSR assessment process are as below= 1. Forming a CSR leadership team=this is the first step in which the team members are selected 2. Creating the definition of CSR= the management will define the exact meaning of CSR and its various features and objectives 3. Identify legal requirements= The management will try to look for the various laws and regulations which must be followed during the CSR implementation 4. corporate documents, processes and activities analysis= The management has to analyse and evaluate the different documents, activities. 5. Involve key stakeholders= The management has to look for the important stakeholders and then try to find out the ways of making them involved with the CSR activities
