Answer #1

Answer: Mill's view on liberty and paternalism is that as the paternalism was opposed because according to him the person knowns better for himself and his own benefits as compared to the state does. It also includes that the every person demands respect for other people's liberty but the paternalism does not support it.

According to the Dworkin, the limited forms of state paternalism is limited for the person's whose freedom is restricted.

The Dworkin say about the state's burden of proof in justifying paternalism as the two condition must be applied:

  • The major focus of the paternalism is to protect against such as irrational activities.
  • The intervention that includes paternalism should be limited to the decision which may be dangerous or can not be reversed.
