Answer #1

1) Release the tourniquet and remove and discard the needle quickly and safely as possible.

2) Apply pressure to the site while having the patient to lower the head end and breath deeply.

3) Reassure to the patient.

4) Physically comfort the patients.

5) Ask for help and explain what you are doing if it is necessary to loosen tight collar or tie.

6) Apply cold compress or wet wash clothes to the neck and back of the patient.

7) Have some one stay with the patient until recovery is complete.
