The Dr. James A. Ferguson Emerging Infectious Diseases Research Initiatives for Student Enhancement (RISE) Fellowship Program is a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)-funded, ten-week summer program providing educational and professional development opportunities for fellows interested in infectious diseases, public health, mental health, maternal and child health and/or health disparities research. The overarching goal of the Ferguson RISE Fellowship is to promote diversity among future public health research leaders.

Being a medical professional ,i should be aware of every new aspects in this field which are upcoming and also having experience in each field is the best and worthy . Being a part of the fellowship program is very much beneficial for me because this fellowship is on Infectious Diseases Research Initiatives for Student Enhancement (RISE) which will teach us the new approaches on how to deal with infections , hoe to prevent infections etc . Infection is one of the major factor causing deaths other than the other co -morbities . So being a part of it is like icing on the cake and it's going to be really beneficial for me in my future career ahead .
