ANSWER :

1) The tibia (shinbone) and fibula are two chief bones of lower leg and serve as insertion point for all the muscles that are prime mover of lower leg.

2) The knee joint (synovial hinge joint) moves whenever the lower leg represents any type of movement.

3) Quadriceps femoris muscle found on thigh bone (femur) and show attachment at knee with tibia bone while hamstrings group muscles are located posterior thigh and originate from ischial tuberosity of pubis to the tibia and fibula bones at knee joint.

4) Quadriceps muscles are powerful extensor and involved in running, squatting and jumping etc.

Hamstrings are strong flexor muscles and also involve in walking and running to provide flexion of lower leg.
