Calibration procedure for test indicators (via surface plate) -

Apparatus used - Test indicators , gage blocks , surface plates  

1.  Fasten the test indicator to the stand and make sure that the contact point of the test indicator should be in contact with the gage block .

2 . A parallel contact point should be developed with the block.

3 . Test indicators are then tested for the repeatability after removing gage block .

Example of measurement - Test indicators accuracy usually doesn't vary much as more than .0005" per dial revolution one gauge .

The generally taken measurement are .00005" accuracy in the range of 0-1" .
