Average velocity can be calculated by determining the total displacement divided by the total time of travel

Since we have total displacement = 100 m

we have to calculate the total time of run

Time taken in first 80 m of run

  80 T =- Displacement Velocity

Ti = 25$

Time taken in last 20 m of run

12 = 10s

So total time take is

T1 + T2 = 25 +10 = 35 s

So the average velocity is equal to

Vaug = Total - displacement Total-Time

100 Vaug = 35

Vavg = 2.86m)s

Correct answer is option ( b) 2.86 m/s
