Seller’s journal entry to record the return, by the buyer of merchandise purchase means recording the entry of purchase return by buyer

when buyer record the purchase journal entry than inventory /Purchase is debited and customer / Account payable is credited.

When material is returned by purchaser than account payable/ Customer account is debited and credited to purchase returns.

So Answer = Option A = Credit to Purchase Returns
