1. SWOT Analysis is a unique tool which helps in understanding the strengths and weaknesses of a company and opportunities opened for it and threats it has to face. For the business, the SWOT Analysis, helps in creating a sustainable blessing niche in the market, as it assist in developing career opportunities for a firm, and taking best advantages in the market.
This analysis is powerful as it help to uncover opportunities that are well placed to exploit. By knowing the weaknesses of the organisation, we can manage and eliminate threats that would otherwise catch unaware. This basically helps in analysing the competitors strengths and weaknesses, so that we can have an advantage over the rivalry firms. It distinguishes the strengths and weaknesses of the rivals in the industry, and compares which organisation is leading and which one has to improve.
The SWOT Analysis consists of four elements:
a. Strength: the strengths could be the advantages of the organisation.
Why is the organisation better than its competitors.
What is its USP in the market.
Which factors help in getting sales and generating revenues.
By answering such questions, the organisation's strengths could be listed out.
b. Weakness: what are the things in which the organisation can improve upon, and avoid the things which are not much beneficial for the organisation.
Consider the perspective of the outside people that what they think as your weaknesses, you should know about that. Don't let anyone know your weakness.
c. Opportunities: how you can spot the opportunity is for you, should be aware of the trends in the market as that will only bring chance to be the best and updated in the industry.
According to the changing environment, the organisation should know how to bring changes in social patterns, latest technology, government policies, etc.
d. Threats: know the competitors move, what hurdles you have to face, know your competitor's strategies.
