Articulate your vision for yourself as a leader 3-5 years from now. Where do you want to be? What kind of leader do you want to become? Please go into some detail.
At present, my position is at the
entry level of management as strategy manager and want to be in the
middle level of management in 2 years of time and at the top level
of management in 4 tears of time. In present day management, a
manager is a leader and vice versa. Hence, I want to be a very good
leader while being an efficient manager at all the position and
work profile pursued in the coming futuristic time frame of 3 to 5
years. Initially, I will follow the leaders while working with them
and developing my own leadership conviction and style and with
suitable opportunities, I will assert my own leadership style with
equally effective manner, but different from what other leaders in
the company have done. My vision will be to become a leader who can
transform the team at work so that the team become much bigger and
potent that the sum of its parts and involved in continuous change.
For this vision, my approach will be to work on the vision myself
and set an example to the team and followers to buy my ideas and
get motivation to follow my vision and proposed course of
action.
I want to be a leader that follows transformational style of
leadership. Such leadership style will help me to identify the
opportunities for improvement, involving employees to make them
realize the benefits awarded after the change and guiding them to
achieve the change in my own leadership. My role will be to guide
the team by motivating them and driving them in one direction by
setting up an example of action taken by myself and then followed
by the employees. It creates a sound example to them. Due to this
method and style, I can help the organization in making turnaround,
implementing emergent change in the organization and or
implementing organizational restructuring. A use of
transformational leadership with an adequate mix of participation
by the employees, will make these initiatives to be more successful
in an organizational setting.
