Before starting let me explain some thing about cellula technology before 5G.

LTE and GSM, CDMA. These all have cellular topology, with some set of nodes as:

  1. Network node. (eNodeB, and BSC, MSC).
  2. End user equipemt.(UE).

Second one UE latched on Network node (wireless).

And before it connected to Core Network, which call EPC.

EPC have the following nodes:

  1. Mobility management activity (MME).
  2. Serving Gateway (SGw).
  3. PDN Gateway (PGw).

These all are connected through gigabit/optic fibres.

This EPC connected to conventional PSTN.

Now let’s move for 5G.

As here I explained you about one connection set - UE to nodeB.

but in 5G we will have many set.

As it is going to include IoT, as Internet of things.

Where using the small microcontroller devices, are connected to each other. these devices will have the small paging and minamal data propogations protocol.

Here the security concern very important.

And like the backward technogies it uses the hardware as well software security units.

IoT devices needed to be synced up to their terminal server which must be relevancy for data send. And been triggered on particular time frame paging message.

** You should once search the paging in telecom, similar when you get call, one paging message to broadcasted to entore cellular cell.

Security protocols.: PDCP. which apply the security data convergance on messages.

Have one to one radio security protocols.

on IP data it uses IpSec protocols.

It can extend the range of RNTI to have more secure.

And the protols same as,

MAC, RLC, PDCP and GTP.
