You can first write the chemical reaction for this reaction.

2Mg + O2 ---------> 2MgO

Here you know that 10 g of Mg is reacting to form 16.58 g of MgO

Hence the difference between the mass of MgO and Mg will give us the mass of oxygen reacted

mmg + mo ---------> mMgO

10 + mo ----------> 16.58

mo = 16.58 - 10

mo = 6.58 g

Hence mass of oxygen gas reacted is 6.58 g .
