A criminal defense attorney representing a client accused of an infamous crime was interviewed on TV about the case against his client. Critical of the prosecution’s theory that his client had enough time to travel across town to commit the crime, the attorney stated, “I challenge anyone to show the prosecution’s timeline is possible. It’s nonsense! In fact, if someone can do it, I will give them a million dollars!”

A college student heard the interview and decided to try it. He traveled across town in the amount of time the prosecution said was possible. When he went to collect the money from the defense attorney, the attorney refused to pay him.

What type of offer is this?

Is the offer enforceable? Why or why not?
