The most important bilateral arrangement between USA and Thailand is the 1966 Treaty of Amity and Economic Relations, facilitating US and Thai to get access to each other's markets.

Later in 2004, both countries initiated an agreement for free trade which will reduce barriers to trade and investment in those countries. But this initiative is not successfully implemented due to few political and economical reasons. but still the trade arrangements made with only few restrictions in anti-HIV drugs, effectively ending the FTA negotiations.

The United States is Thailand's third largest trading partner after Japan and China. The US, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore and the European Union are among Thailand's largest foreign investors.

Regarding Export and Imports data of 2018 :

Thailand was the United States 26th largest goods export market in 2018. Top export categories were electrical machinery, mineral fuels, machinery, miscellaneous grain, seeds, fruit and optical and medical instruments.

Thailand was the United states 16th largest supplier of goods imports in 2018. Top import categories were machinery, electrical machinery, rubber, precious metal and stone.

Regarding Agricultural products - USA total exports of agricultural products to Thailand is approximately 2 billion dollars in 2018 where imports is about 2.7 billion dollars in the same year

This is the analysis for the trade relation and exchange rate history between these 2 countries.

There is an affect of US - china trade war on Thailand. As President trump is imposing tarrifs and china is also doing the same, they both were in a trade war. As a growing country like Thai, the world economic and trade health affects it directly and indirectly.
