Corrective maintenance happens whenever a member who is a user or an IT staff reports an issue during using the software. But, other kind of maintenances such as adaptive, perfective and preventive maintenance every time does the procedures according to the standard maintenance of organization.

Baseline modules consist of tested and documented software modules. They are also allowed to be the part of current system version. Build routines consists of guidelines that enumerate the set of instructions for developing a system which is from the baseline source code and system librarian keeps the duplicates of previous versions of every system modules. He also keeps build routines. During the development or maintenance of a system, it is the responsibility of system librarian to manage the checking in and checking out of baseline modules for that system.

Maintenance means the modifications done to a system for fix or enhancing functionality. Whereas, maintainability is the simplicity of the software where a person is able to understand, correct, adapt, and enhance software easily.

Since a fine documented system enables every other feature of the system to be detectable with full evidence, the major factor is the quality of system documents. So whenever internal problems arise, perfect documentation aids in easy recovery and maintenance costs also minimized. Moreover, by perfect documentation, every communication is done correctly by sending them to purposive users.
