Answer #1

(Answer) (1) C – If an individual is raised in an environment where rewards are not guaranteed, they may learn to take what they can, when they can. This is because they have not been accustomed to the situation where they have had to wait patiently after their good behavior for a reward that they deserved. Therefore, they are not entirely used to this concept and would not be able to wait a little while longer to eat the two marshmallows.

(2) C – Selective attention is simply the process where there are several stimuli in the environment simultaneously but, the brain selects which to focus on and which to ignore.

(3) A – Parasympathetic nervous system. Because this is also known as the “rest and digest” system.

(4) A – All of the above. Because reducing prejudice is a conscious effort. This means that it takes work to get to know someone and eradicate prejudice. Engendering equality, interactions, cooperative tasks, etc. would all help bring about camaraderie.
