Please note: • This is an assignment about Entity Relationship modeling. It’s not about creating database using DBMS. The output of this modeling usually shows diagrams and descriptions. • Please use any diagram notations that the textbook ever used. You may use generic drawing tools in office applications, or diagram/flow-chart tool such as MS-Visio to produce ER diagrams. • Please provide appropriate attributes that satisfy the information requirements to all entities and relationships. • Late assignments will be graded down 10% per day late. • This is an individual assignment of a DESIGN problem. You may discuss with others to come up with ideas, but not collaborate to complete the work. Students submitting similar works may both/all receive 0s grade and face possible disciplinary actions. • Grading is based on (1) completeness, (2)proper notation, (3) correct modeling logic. • All information requirements need to be fully satisfied. Although you may make assumptions, DO NOT trivialize the design requirement. • If you have questions, email your instructor: [email protected].

The Lab has a large database, recording important data about every single wand made over many centuries. The lab preserves the most trusted personal records of the entire wizarding community. Each wizard (or witch) is identified by NeRD (Never Repeated Distinct) identifier, composed of letters from the standard magic alphabet. The Ollivander database archives the name of the wizard, as well as the date and place of birth. Furthermore, the father and mother (both are wizards) are recorded for every individual. Ollivander lab stores data about all shcools of wizardry in the world. Along with the name of each school, the database keeps track of its location, education level, current number of students and the name of the current principal. For each wizard in the world, Ollivander Lab notes the number of their license to use wand and the data it was issued. The license is always issued by a school, and signed by two witnesses The wizards (witches) who signed the authorization and the school that issued it are noted in the database as well.(20 points)
