Hot plate pair A supports the answer. In the example, two plates of same size is shown although the temperatures are different. Hence, when two plates of same size and one of them can cook a large pot of spaghetti first, then it can be safely assumed that the plate that cooked large pot of spaghetti first, is at a higher temperature.

It can also be deduced by logical argument. Since the two plates are of same size (area is constant), the temperature per unit area would be same for both if temperature remains same. Now since one of the plates cook large pot of spaghetti faster, it means that it would more heat. Hence more heat translates into higher temperature since temperature is quantitative measurement of the heat.

In the Hot plate pair, A the right plate is at higher temperature than the left plate (notice the colour of both plates and relocate the colour significance in the temperature graph given at the side).
