Answer #1

Concerted cultivation refers to middle class parents bringing up their children in a systematic way thus, they would demand more from their children in terms of learning, socializing and behaving in a selective pattern. Although children in this style would be more disciplined, most of them would miss the fun-filled childhood thus living an artificial lifestyle because they would be engaged in more after school programs in order to enhance their abilities. Parents would involve in their children’s activities by transporting them and teach them. They also would encourage their children to question authorities and this would make them more independent individuals who wouldn’t fear the authorities.

Natural growth on the other hands refers to poor parents develop their children without much restriction but at the same time discipline them in way that they don’t miss their childhood fun and joy. Demands would be less but they would provide more love and sacrifice for their children. They wouldn’t have any scheduled timing for activities thus, would engage in activities on their own whenever they like. These children will have great difficulty in a structured environment. These parents would also spend more time in their jobs thus wouldn’t be able to spend time with their children and this would also make them not focused.
