Solution:-

Upper Specification limit, USL=7.8+0.5=8.3

Lower Specification limit, LSL = 7.8-0.5= 7.3

If the process is centered. Actual Mean, M = 7.8

To give Cpk of 1.33

Cpk= (mean-L spec)/3sd

Sd= 0.5/3 -1.33 = -1.163

Hence, the standard deviation should be lower than 1.16
