The slopes of the lines are parallel because there are no interaction effect between mouse and ant factors.

For both mouse presence and mouse absences, the higher number of shrubs are for ant- (ant absence). The absence of ants is associated with more number of shrubs than the presence of ants irrespective mouse presence. There is no interaction between mouse presence and ant presence and hence the lines seems to be parallel with equal slopes. The intercepts differ because the absence of ants is associated with more number of shrubs.
