Enthalpy of formation of ZnS(s)

Zn(s) + 1/8 S8(s) --------> ZnS(s). ∆H = ?

So using 2nd reaction,

∆H = -∆H2/3

∆Hf(ZnS) = -551.76/3

= -183.92 kj/mol
