If you choose the base of the beam as the origin, and the positive torque direction as counter-clockwise, what is the torque from the right cord on the beam?

Torque due to right cord = -F*L*sin(theta)

= -1000*5*sin(90)

= -5000 N.m

negative sign indictes the torque is clockwise.
