Hello,

My name is James. I currently work in finance in the entertainment Industry. I hope to eventually be a manager of some kind. I Hope this class will give a firmer grasp of management principles and polices. I currently live in Santa Monica, but hopefully will move to Redondo Beach shortly. I enrolled in this course as part of a certificate program with UCLA.

In my varied career, I have seen lots of management styles and personalities. They range from downright terrible to middling. I am studying management and leadership, because I strive to be an exceptional manager. I believe that most companies, my present one included, has severe deficiencies in management. Most of the people I have worked with are great individual contributors but terrible managers and my greatest hope in taking this class is ways to mitigate and improve my own personal management abilities.

1. James who is currently working in entertainment industry has a good experience working with great individuals. In my opinion when you work with different people you learn more about the style and working style of individuals. In that respect it is the great decision to learn more about management and leadership. Overall leadership techniques not only help in your business life but also enhance your inner personality. James have experience of working with terrible manager so he do not want to repeat the same in his career.

Xiyue yang is pursuing general business studies so he is doing right on his part to learn management techniques because in higher education you need to be excel in management skills.

2. Both of them share the same objective to do this class as both of them want to learn leadership skills. Both of them know the importance of management and great leadership skills to help them in their coming future career.

3. Yes there is networking opportunity. They both can help themselves in finding jobs, moving cities, requesting character references, widening your circles. This happens because they both are from different cities and are undergoing through different phase of their career in different programme.
