E-commerce websites use lot of tools to communicate and influence the customers like banner advertisements, blogs , forums , video guides about products and services, animation for how to use , pop up boxes on websites about recommendations and offers etc.
The first website i visited was Amazon (India) , in the first 15 minutes i browsed about products like shoes, earphones , backpacks etc. They have big banner advertisements about the new product launch, upcoming flash sale and currently running top offer. they showing suggestion about products related to my browsing. amazon has 24/7 customer chat and call services . they showing the Deal of the day section which shows the product being sold on discount. They also showing the combination of the product which is being sold frequently along with the specific product for example they showing combo of socks when i see a shoe .
The second website I visited was Flipkart (India) .it also has a similar appearance as Amazon but with some differences . this website showing the 360 degree view of most of the products like consumer electronics. they have a built in video tab which gives a demonstration of the product like a fridge or TV .which is i think give a nice showroom kind of feeling to the visitor on the website. it also has all the advertisement about offers , sales and trending products , recommendations and customer support.
in my opinion flipkart is better than Amazon here ,it gives a realistic feeling about products to the customers.
