Answer #1

Variation atom size in groups and periods:

In Groups: Atomic size increases from top to bottom in groups.

In periods: atomic size decreases from left to right in periods.

Given elements are fluorine (F), nitrogen (N), boron (B), neon (Ne) and sodium (Na).

Here, fluorine (F), nitrogen (N), boron (B), and neon (Ne) are belongs to second period.

neon is present extreem right side of the second group so it has smallest atomic size.

sodium is first group third period element. so it has largest atomic size.

Hence, the decreasing order of the atomic size of given elements is as follows:

Na > B > N > F > Ne

largest atomic size smallest atomic size
