Answer #1

Answer 1: A neighbourhood should be close enough for safety. In case of any problem, we should be able to contact our neighbour easily. The neighbour should have a mindset that matches with us so that we could be comfortable living together in a neighbourhood. The environment has to be senior-friendly. The seniors living in the neighbourhood should be friendly. They should not be dominating in the neighbourhood they are most often in the workplaces. This makes the mind stressful. There should be no work discussion at home.

The services that should be nearby is the availability of basic essential materials like foods and daily use materials. Availability of minimum household materials and stationaries. There should be a park, playgrounds, and gym.

The community should look clean and be peaceful. There should be sufficient greenery for a peaceful and pollution-free environment.

Seniors many times want to be near their juniors in the community so that they can make some of their work done at home from juniors. They can ask for any minor work, and that has to be done by a junior to please him. Some seniors discuss the work in the home to get maximum work done by their juniors. This is not good, as it makes the junior feel stressed.

Answer 2: As per the clinician, the home of a senior may be unsafe and inappropriate for the person to continue living. This notion might be disagreed by seniors as it is good for them to make their work done even at their home. They think in this way they get maximum efficiency. The autonomy of a junior is not maintained if he or she lives near or in a senior’s home. Senior can be helpful as well. If the work is not discussed and senior is not dominating living like good friends, then it is possible to have both autonomy and safety. Living in a separate home with little distance is good for both autonomy and safety.

Answer 3: Geriatric care manager is a licensed nurse or a social worker in geriatric (old person receiving special care) who help persons to identify needs and find ways to meet the needs. Service coordinators are professionals who help to process the smooth running of daily medical duties. They help doctors, nurse, patients, and other staff members to tasks related to immediate medical requirements. Most of the senior citizens have many diseases, for which they need daily care and essential requirements. Sometimes they need immediate medical treatments.   Geriatric care manager and Service coordinators are well experienced for these tasks. A geriatric care manager can help in the daily care of senior citizens. Heath service coordinators can help the geriatric care manager in fulfilling their immediate care requirement for treating senior citizens.
