  1. A fast food restaurant serves this sandwich made with 2 pieces of bread, 1 meat patty, 2 pieces of cheeses, and 4 pickles.  If the restaurant currently has the following inventory as shown below, what would be the maximum number of specialty sandwiches that it could prepare (theoretical yield) ? What ingredient would limit the sandwich (limiting reactant)?

Inventory:  200 pieces of bread, 200 meat patties, 200 cheese slices, 200 pickles.

If each of the five employees ate one sandwich, what is the % of those sandwiches made available to deliver to the customers (% yield)?

Answer #1

Pickles is the limiting factor

200 pickles are there so we can make 50 sandwiches

50 is the theoretical yield

If the employees ate 1 sandwich

% of sandwich available for delivery = 49/50 ×100 = 98%
