See shape of particle has a role to play in deciding permeability. If we considered void ratio as constant than in that case the soil with angular grain has more specific surface area as compared to rounded grain. Thus the permeability in case of angular grains are less as compared to that of rounded grain. Further with increase in angularity porosity decreases as a result of better packing. So, with increasing angularity the permeability decreases.

Also grain size distribution also help in deciding the permeability. With increase in effective size permeability increases.

So, option D is the correct choice.
