=1.188\ \textup{x}\ 10^{4} \textup{x}\ 10^{5} gallons

=1.188\ \textup{x}\ 10^{4+5} gallons

=1.188\ \textup{x}\ 10^{9} gallons

Hence, 1.188\ \textup{x}\ 10^{9} gallons of water flows over the falls in an hour.
