Answer #1

Ques 1.option C is correct.

the alkyne is a base and methane is a saturated species( sp3 hybridised) . Since saturated species dont react with acid or base but only give reaction in heat and light. Thus this reaction given in option c will not occur.

Ques 2. The reactivity of diene can be given as

  • Conjugated diene must be there.
  • Cis diene should be there because it undergoes ring formation easily.
  • Cyclic dienes react faster ( because in cyclic there is no formation of trans due to rotation).

thus option B is correct.

  • structure 3 will have maximum reactivity as it is conjugated , cis ,cyclic diene
  • structure 2 will have least because it is not conjugated diene.
  • structure 4 is placed on 2nd number in reactivity order because it is conjugated , cis diene.
  • structure 1 is placed on 3rd number in reactivity order. Because it is conjugated but trans .

Ques3. The reaction does not occur because acetate is weak base than ethoxide. so option d is correct.

a good base is the one which is better electron donour. Thus we can say anion is less stable as it tend to donate its electron pair becoming a good base. Now since anion is less stable so we can say its leaving group tendency will be low ( as leaving group is anion ).

So we can summarize a good base is a poor leaving group. Thus acetate being a weaker base has more leaving tendency so reaction will not occur .

1st image show what should have occured if reaction happens. 2nd image show what actually occured which resulted in no reaction.

Na Na This occur should per reaction ot but does not Chy loo betten leaving group than ethoxide ionOna + Na O=C no مع) reaction occured
