Answer #1

The statement is False

The classical view of CSR was endorsed by Milton Friedman, who was an Nobel prize winning economist.

As per classical view of CSR, business is a profit making entity. The only responsiblity of the business as an economic institution is to provide goods and services to the society and maximize shareholder's wealth.

Maximation of shareholder's wealth will happen when the supreme goal is profit maximization. The only social obligation of the business is to not break the law.

Other than that, businesses shouldn't engage in any such social activities that would add up to costs and decrease profits.

Thus, the statement is False.
