From an economic perspective,will fitness centres make up their losses from the virus? Will gym memberships go up or decrease... Is it safe to go into gyms?

Answer) Due to the prevailing lockdowns in order to tackle corona virus pandemic, the gyms across the globes are closed. The situation of the gym can be seen from two perspective:

  1. In the short run, the gyms will suffer loses as the place of operations would be closed. People would be reluctant to come due to social distancing and hygiene issue. The gym owners continually incur cost in terms of rent and salary of the staff.
  2. In the long run, the gyms would earn a respectable profit. Most of the organisation have started with work from home till the mid of 2021. As a result due to sitting at home, the health and stress of people is adversely affected. People would join gym to resolve the issue of obesity and anxiety after a period of time.

Right now it is not safe to go to the gyms. However over the period of time with the coming of social distancing norms in gyms. It would be safer.
