Standard form is

Ax + By = C

2x + y = 6

Standard form : 2x + y = 6

Graphing the equation

2x + y = 6

Subtract 2x from both sides

y = - 2x + 6

Slope = - 2 y intercept = 6

To graph using slope and y intercept

We first mark y intercept on the graph (0, 6)

Then , slope is - 2 / 1

Rise = - 2 and run = 1

From (0,6) move 2 units down and 1 unit right to get the 2nd point ( 1, 4) and repeat the process to get other points

Then join the points with a straight line

Graphing is easier with the standard method

Once you have the intercepts you can plot them and join the points to complete the graph

d)

If we get intercepts in fractions then it becomes difficult to plot them so, then slope intercept method is preferable
