The most basic difference between crystalline solids and noncrystalline solids (NCS) is that :
1. A long-range order in the distribution of atoms (ions) or molecules exists in the crystalline material but not in the glass/ non crystalline material.
2. Crystalline material are Anisotropic in nature i.e value of given property is different in all direction whereas glass/ non crystalline material is are isotropic in nature i.e value of given property is same in all direction.
