The major concern is the competing price with manufacturers from China and Japan. Tesla has always been a costly option but they knew it, because innovation was what they promoted and in the long run they knew customers would understand the need of using Electric cars and they would become the number one choice for everyone. However, to overcome this price challenge, what Tesla did smartly was build a network of charging stations and gain control over the electric cars market. This way the new competitors would be able to sell their cars at lower prices but still would have to use charging stations set by tesla, or else if they try to set up their own charging stations they would also have to increase the prices of their cars to compensate.
So in one way or the other, TESLA has played it very smart in the long run. The experts also believe, TESLA should keep growing its network of charging stations to ward off competitors.
