f(x) = x^3 - 8x^2 + 16x

Setting f(x) = 0

x^3 - 8x^2 + 16x = 0

x ( x^2 - 8x + 16 ) = 0

x ( x - 4)^2 = 0

Setting each factor to 0

x = 0 , x - 4 = 0

x - 4 = 0

Add 4 on both sides

x = 4

The zeros are 0 ( multiplicity 1 ) , 4 ( multiplicity 2 )

The graph crosses the x axis at x = 0

The graph touches the x axis at x = 4
