Answer #1

In this problem, we have to assume the gas to be ideal gas to solve it.

GIVEN

The pressure is given by:

P=50N/cm^{2}

cross-section area is given by:

A=40cm^{2}

let V be the velocity of gas

so the volume of gas is given by:

Vol=A\times V

mass flow rate is given by:

m=0.5kg/s

the temperature of gas is given by:

T=15=15+273K=288K

gas constant is given by:

R=292J/kgK

FORMULA USED:

P\times Vol=m\times R\times T

SOLUTION:

50\times V\times 40=0.5\times 292\times 288

so,

V=21.02m/s

option (b) is correct.
