Cumulative area is the value which gives the probability that the value of a random variable will lie in the interval. For e.g. for normal distribution the cumulated area between 0 and 1 gives the probability that the a random variable value will lie in the interval.

Using standard normal table we can derive that for z score 0.05 the cumulative value is 0.52
