Answer #1

Answer. True

The Cashflow statement is composed of 3 sections: Cashflow from Operations, Cashflow from Investments and Cashflow from Financing. Cashflow from Operations measures the actual cash (in Mr. Welch's terms, the money made from operations) your business operations generated this year. Cashflow from Investments measures the cash invested in or returns made from investments in Physical and Financial assets. Cashflow from Financing measures the cash generated through borrowings or the cash paid out to lenders/shareholders to reduce debt/payout dividends respectively. When these three measures are taken together, we get the total cash (money, net of everything) generated by the business this year. And once this cash is added to the opening cash balance at the start of the year, we get the cash (money) that the business will have going forward at the beginning of the next year. So the statement is True.
