Borderline Personality Disorder

Kely meets the diagnostic criteria for borderline personality disorder as people with borderline personality disorder are characterized as overly dramatic and manipulative. Other characteristics are intense fear of abandonment, episodes of intense anxiety, chronic feelings of emptiness (depression), substance abuse, reckless and impulsive behavior (including unsafe sex which resulted in the contraction of herpes), suicidal ideations and attempts, destructive relationships and chaotic life.

They get hospitalized many times due to there indulgence in self-harm behavior. Sleep pattern is disrupted. They either switch therapists or the therapist refers them to someone else. A traumatic event is also usually present (sexual harassment). Chronic stress is present (her daughter is developmentally challenged). Tremors are the result of alcohol abuse.

Anxiety disorders, depression, and substance abuse are common comorbidities that occur with borderline personality disorder.
